The Bombay Master Printers' Association- Safeguarding the Needs of the Printing Industry

It all began with the Bombay Presidency Printers and Lithographers' Association. That was the time when a group of entrepreneurs and innovators from the printing industry came together and forged an association for the betterment of the fraternity.

In 1956, the name - the Bombay Presidency Printers and Lithographers' Association - was transformed to The Bombay Master Printers' Association. In 1971 the BMPA was legally incorporated under The Companies Act 1956.

From those days in the past, the BMPA has grown to its present stature. And today, it comprises of more than four hundred members from and around Mumbai (Bombay). These include top-end players of the graphic arts industry.

The BMPA is also an integral part of the All India Federation of Master Printers, New Delhi (AIFMP). The AIFMP is an apex organisation that represents printers on an all India basis. Some 42 regional association's come under this umbrella organisation.

In this age of inter-technology exchange and the absence of formal stratification, the BMPA realising the essence of business relationships and their growing inter-dependence has moved towards a broad membership base. The membership comprises of print providers, manufacturers and traders from pre-press, press, post-press and converting segments of the printing industries.
